Live Line Baits Pro-Staff member Michael McClafferty joined our staff in 2009. Michael grew up fishing open and invitational tournaments throughout the state of Texas with the best partner any fisherman can have, his father. In 2002 Michael choose to follow in his father’s footsteps by joining the military, and becoming a member of the Security Forces Squadron at Schriever AFB, CO. In 2009, after numerous deployments in support of the war on terrorism, Michael has chosen to return to civilian life and the added benefits of fishing tournaments again on a regular basis. Michael’s list of military accomplishments is long and storied, as are his fishing accomplishments, which include being the Pikes Peak Bassmaster’s Rookie of the year for 2008, finishing in the top 5 at the 2000 Ronald McDonald Big Bass held on Lake Sam Rayburn, TX, and being the Cen-Tex Angler of the Year for 1999 & 2000. Michael is currently on Pro-Staff with Falcon Rods and Live Line Baits.
Live Line Baits Pro-Staff member Dana King joined our staff in 2009. Dana comes from a long line of dedicated outdoorsmen and spent most of his childhood fly fishing Rocky Mountain streams in the state of Utah. In 1999, Dana joined the Navy; he has been deployed numerous times to overseas location in support of the Global War On Terrorism, to include a stint on the USS Roosevelt, some ground based time in Iraq as well as in Afghanistan – Where he is currently serving. Dana anxiously awaits his return from Afghanistan so that he can wet his line, and further his college education through his current enrollment in the Wildlife Management program at Utah State University. In between deployments Dana has been actively fishing the ESPN weekend bass series, Fort Gordon’s Sportsman’s Club tournaments, as well as volunteered hundreds of hours with Fort Gordon’s Sportsman’s Club educating children in hunting and fishing. Dana is currently sponsored by Live Line Baits, and is counting the days for his return to the pleasure of spending a weekend on the water searching for that elusive Hawg!!
Live Line Baits Pro-Staff member Darin Price joined our staff in the fall of 2009, after more than 20 years of faithful service to the US Air Force. Darin comes from a long line of dedicated military service members and outdoorsmen. This not only instilled a patriotic sense of purpose, but also enabled him to spend his childhood fishing and hunting the many bodies of waters and woodlands in and around the state of Michigan with his father, brother, close family members, and friends. Since his retirement he has had the opportunity to bring his renewed love of the outdoors front and center again. He is currently a member of the Springs Bassmasters and 5280 Basshunters; becoming a known name within the Top Ten at local FLW affiliated tournaments. Darin hopes to share his many experiences using Live Line Baits with all fellow fisherman, and tournament anglers; however, most importantly, Darin is looking forward to passing on his experiences in life and in the great outdoors to his 3 sons. Live Line Baits Pro-Staff member Dakota Jones joined our team in 2007. Dakota has shown since an early age his superior skills in tournament angling, becoming the WA State Jr. BASS Champion when he was just 13 years of age. He has represented the state of WA with pride on numerous occasions such as finishing 16th overall at the 2008 Jr. World Championship in Syracuse, NY, placing 1st in the IEBC Potholes Jr. tournament, and placing 3rd at the 2009 BASS regional qualifier. As if this was not enough to show his aptitude for tournament angling, He went on again to captured the title of WA States Jr. BASS Champion in 2009, as well as place 7th over all at the 2009 WA state FLW Jr championship. Dakota has been tournament fishing since 2006 and hopes to share his knowledge and love of Bass Fishing to all who will listen. He is passionate about what he does and has shown this through TV shows, Radio broadcasts, and newspaper articles. The great state of WA is known for their young tournament anglers, and Dakota is no exception. Watch for Dakota as he continues on his journey to the Pro series.
Live Line Pro-Staff member Bob Ploof joined our staff in the winter of 2009. Bob is an accomplished outdoor communicator and competitive walleye tournament angler. He has 32 years of experience in public speaking on a wide variety of outdoor related subjects and has been very visible to the public through numerous fishing seminars, boat shows, volunteer activities, TV commercials, radio, and newspaper articles. As a competitive tournament angler, he’s a regular on the Washington State Walleye Circuit. His preferred presentation technique for walleyes is “jigging” and believes Live Line Baits grubs and ringworms are critical to his success. In the last three years Bob has finished in the top ten, six times in 15 events. Highlights include a third place finish in the Championship as well as placing second (by .37 points) in the Washington State Walleye Circuit Angler of the Year competition in 2008. Bob is a USAF veteran who served on active duty as a Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) Specialist for nearly 28 years until his retirement in 2005. He is currently a national level Pro-Staff representative for Crestliner Boats Inc., The Tobler Marina, Whites Boots Inc., Live Line Baits, Macks Lures, C & H Custom Rods, J & J Lube, the Longhorn Bar-B-Q. He also represents Owner Hooks Inc, Pure Fishing, Columbia Sportswear and Lindy Legendary Tackle through their respective incentive programs. Bob is a Spokane Walleye Club board member and author of “Pro’s Pointers” for the club newsletter.
